Ramsgate flying high after tournament triumph

Ramsgate's under 14 Kent Youth League side from last season continued their preparation for under 15 football when they picked up their second trophy in two weeks with a superb display at the Red Arrow tournament last weekend, writes Stephen McCartney.

Ramsgate won their group without conceding a goal thanks to some fine defending from Kyle Scot and Jamie Brown.

The highlight of the group was a five-goal tally for Danny Atkins in a 6-0 win over Red Arrow Harriers.

Manager Andy Woodcock confirmed: "New signing Jac Scott has fitted in brilliantly and was linking up well with captain Ashley Groombridge between them they created and scored some excellent goals that took Ramsgate past Deal Town and Thanet Colts and on to the final."

The final was won 2-0 against a good Red Arrow side in front of their home supporters.

Both goals coming from Ramsgate's man of the tournament, Danny Atkins.
