Munday handed captain armband for Rams Ryman debut

Ramsgate travel to Burgess Hill Town tomorrow, making their Ryman League division one debut, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Kent League champions take a 16-man squad to Leylands Park but manager Jim Ward feels sorry for the four players that don't make it.

"All the players are desperate to play and it will be a shame for those four players who have not made the squad," he told the club's website www.ramsgate-fc.co.uk

Former Folkestone Invicta midfielder, Mark Munday, however, is set to make his debut, despite missing the last two games against Herne Bay and Margate due to holiday.

Munday has been appointed captain and replaces Mo Takaloo, who chose to sign for Kent Leaguers Maidstone United in the summer.

The Southwood Stadium outfit have organised coach travel to most of their away matches this season, but in order this to continue the club needs supporters to fill the coaches.

Most away matches will cost £10 (including a £5 deposit) to secure places, which can be booked by contacting John Vahid (stadium manager) or Colin Aris (club shop).

The Rams also have a vacancy for a new reserve team manager.

Tooting & Mitcham United are their first visitors to Southwood Stadium in Ryman League action on Tuesday night.
