Overton suffers more injury heartbreak

Maidstone United boss Lloyd Hume was able to provide a further update on midfielder Peter Overton's ongoing injury situation.

He revealed that due to a mis-diagnosis of Overton's foot problem, the former Tonbridge Angels player may face a further operation before being able to return to the squad.

Overton had to undergo another scan last week after further investigations revealed damage to his heel and he was awaiting the results this week.

Should he need an operation, it could mean a further six weeks lay off.

Also, the Kentish Oberserver League club are reminding fans to join the Stones 400 club.

They are still 15 members short of their target of 50 members for the first draw.

That draw will be next month so forms need to be returned as soon as possible to stand a chance of winning.

Should you wish to enter July's draw you will now need to forward your first payment as a cheque as Standing Orders take around a month to set up.

Cheques should be made payable to "The Maidstone Utd 400 Club".

The scheme is being run to finance the club's new stadium.
