Spurs starts to play former Maidstone players
Go Travel Kent League club Maidstone United have officially announced that an ex-Maidstone United XI will take on a team consisting of ex-Tottenham Hotspur stars on Sunday 17th August at Bourne Park, Sittingbourne. The game will kick
off at 4.00pm, writes Darren Lovell.

The Spurs XI has been established for several years, with the main driving force of the team being former England and Tottenham striker Martin Chivers. The main aim of the day will be to raise money for good causes. A variety of Tottenham
superstars from the 70's, 80's and 90's will be displaying their skills on the day, in what is sure to be a fun-filled family occasion.

The Maidstone United side promises to include some of the fans' favourite stars of recent years, including former Brighton and Leeds United goalkeeper Mark Beeney, currently managing Sittingbourne, and a big favourite from the 1980's, Frank Ovard.

Other ex-Stones who have agreed to play on the day include Nigel Donn, Dave Wiltshire, Gary Roberts, Neil Cugley, John Glover, Jimmy Quinn, Tony Reynolds, Terry Cordice and Mal Watkins.

Maidstone United are keen for any former players to contact the club, with regards to either playing on the day or to renew their acquaintance with the football club. They are asked to contact the club office on 01622 688444.
