There's never been a better time to join Maidstone

GO Travel Kent League club Maidstone United is actively searching for a major sponsor ahead of its return to Kent's county town after eighteen years.

Work will begin later this year on a 3,000 capacity stadium at James Whatman Way, just on the outskirts of the town.

The riverside stadium, which will take twelve months to complete, incorporates a main stand, two covered terraces, club house, changing rooms, and parking.

The club last owned their own ground in county town in season 1987/88, after which it was sold to make way for a superstore development. Since that time, the Stones have played their football at Dartford, including a spell in the Football League, and currently at Sittingbourne.

"There's never been a better time to join us," said chairman Paul Bowden-Brown. "A two-year sponsorship deal would offer a rewarding partnership during the construction and subsequent opening of our new stadium. Not only will the sponsor be part of football history, it will also be at the forefront of its future in Maidstone."

There are many benefits available to the first-team sponsor including having their logo on the home, away and replica shirts. The sponsor will also play a key role in the homecoming of the Stones.

"As well as developing the stadium, I'm also committed to developing opportunities for the borough's young footballers," added Bowden-Brown, who took over as chairman following the demise of the former League club. "I firmly believe sport brings a community together and hope that our homecoming will be a catalyst for this, building on our existing loyal supporters, who alongside myself, were determined not to let Maidstone United be consigned to the history books."
