New Lordswood boss Piggott gets off to winning ways
New Lordswood manager Paul Piggott got off to a flying start in charge of the Go Travel Kent League club, winning 3-1 at West Wickham.

Lordswood now travel to Ramsgate in the quarter-finals of the Kent Senior Trophy, to be played on Saturday 3rd January.

Assisted by Graham Mitchell, goalkeeper Piggott saw his side take a ninth minute lead when Michael Dodsworth cut inside from the right and curled a twenty-yard shot into the net.

Nine minutes later a long ball from James Short who controlled the ball and set up Sean Hetterley inside the penalty area to slot home Lordswood's second.

West Wickham pulled a goal back inside two minutes of the restart when Paul Jennings chased a long ball, beat John Gissing and shot past Piggott inside the penalty area.

Lordswood, however, wrapped up their passage into the quarter-finals when Phil Pearson was fouled on the edge of the area and Sam Colyer knocked it sideways for Kevin Thorburn whose shot deflected past goalkeeper Mark Owlett.
