St Leonards Road
Deal Town 0
Beckenham Town 2 Vines 13
Tiesse 46

Beckenham traveled to the Kent coast in this Kent League Premier Division match against a much improved Deal side on Saturday, writes Ian Muir.

Beckenham Town took the early initiative keeping position and probing the home-sides defence at every opportunity.

The normal one touch football at times made way for longer diagonal balls as Beckenham came to terms with the bumpy playing surface.

However, after five minutes Ellis Green found Tiesse in space but his effort was touched round the post for a corner. Chances then flowed but the pattern for the afternoon was set as the visitors failed to capitalise.

It was left to Vines who, after same good work down the left side by Daniels made no mistake in firing home after 13 minutes.

Within the next ten minutes Vines should have had a hat-trick after some good work by Adeniyi and Kadi.

Deal battled hard but could not find a way past the impressive centre-back duo of Forbes and Ahawan and it was not until the 37th minute that the home side managed to get into Beckenham's six yard box with the ball. It would be another 37 minutes untill Deal had their first real chance.

The second half started and within a minute Becks were 2-0 up as Tiesse cut right inside a backpedaling defender and blasted the ball past the helpless keeper.

A minute later Cheeseman found him self in the same position but chose to cross rather than shoot.  Three minutes later Green broke fast down the left and whipped  in a cross to skipper Forbes who headed just wide.

Things never really livened up and around the hour mark Cheeseman made way for Morris who made an immediate impact but again could not find the net.

The game was not a classic but Town chalked up a fifth successive win to stay top of the Kent Premier Division with maximum points.
