Piper loaned to Angels

Tony Dolby, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club Tonbridge Angels, has confirmed that former Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Lenny Piper has signed on a month’s loan from Southern League Division One East leaders Fisher Athletic.

Piper is as an attacking midfielder whose former clubs include Farnborough Town, and Gillingham.

Piper joined the squad for Monday's match against Worthing which was one of many to fall foul of the bad weather.

Further good news for Dolby was that midfielder Luke Anderson has been given the all clear to start training.

Anderson's career was threatened in July when an infection developed in his legs following a knee operation.

At one stage it seemed unlikely that Anderson would play again but thankfully he was given clearance to commence light training last week, although it is too early to state when he could feature, but his presence could be vital as the Angels try to fight off the threat of relegation.
