Dolby delighted with his two new signings

TONBRIDGE ANGELS' player-manager Tony Dolby is delighted to announce the capture of two new players as they fight to secure promotion back into the Ryman Premier League at the first attempt, writes Stephen McCartney.

Dolby has found a replacement for goalkeeper Jamie Turner, who signed for Nationwide Conference South club Welling United.

The Longmead Stadium outfit have today agreed terms with Jerome John, who helped Fisher Athletic clinch the Southern League Division One East title last season.

"JJ" as he is known, helped Kingstonian secure the Ryman Premier League title and FA Trophy during his time at Kingsmeadow before their financial problems.

A youth team coach with Premiership side West Ham United, he also picked up the accolade of Player of the Year whilst at Ryman Premier League side Billericay Town in 2002 and has also played for Dulwich Hamlet and Altrincham.

And 27-year-old Fisher Athletic defender, Steve Aris has agreed terms with Dolby this lunchtime to join the Ryman League Division One club.

The former Millwall defender has spent the last six seasons at Fisher and has also been Player of the Year and club captain.

And Dolby - a former Fisher defender himself - told the club's website: "I am delighted that we have got two quality players to agree to join us.

"There will be more to come but I am not going to be rushed into making early signings as my priority is to bring players to the club who are going to move us in a forward direction."
