Fisher boss Burnett resigns due to "personal" reasons

Ryman League Premier Division club Fisher Athletic have announced the resignation of Wayne Burnett as first-team manager, reports www.nonleaguedaily.com

Fisher have thanked Burnett for the huge contribution that he has made in assembling a league and cup winning side in his first season in management.

The reasons behind this decision are personal to Burnett and therefore the club will respect his privacy and make no further comment on his decision.

Chairman Eren Muduroglu, who brought Burnett to the club, said: “There is no need to rush to find a replacement as the infrastructure at the club will allow for the continued smooth running of affairs both on and off the pitch, but to say I am disappointed at his departure is an understatement.

“I have worked closely with Wayne in the recent development of Fisher Athletic and to lose him now is very difficult to come to terms with as his knowledge and professionalism will be very hard to replace.

“I wish him the very best in his personal life and look forward to having the opportunity to work with him again in the future.”
