Former Fleet star Duku signs for Fish

NATIONWIDE SOUTH club Lewes have lost another of their senior players with the departure of defender Francis Duku to Ryman League Premier Division newcomers Fisher Athletic, reports www.nonleaguedaily.com

Lewes have already lost the services of Barry Moore (AFC Wimbledon), Junior Kadi, who has joined Kent League side Beckenham Town as player/assistant-manager and both Marc Cable and Danny Davis to Worthing.

Duku joined the Rooks last summer from Nationwide Conference side Gravesend & Northfleet.

He began his career with Reading as a youngster before moving to Collier Row & Romford Maidenhead United.

A strong, uncompromising and highly influential defender, Duku has attracted interest from a number of Football League clubs during his career.

Spells with Crawley Town, Romford and Grays Athletic followed before he joined Dulwich Hamlet, from where he moved to Stonebridge Road in August 2000.

Fisher are also rumoured to be interested in signing ‘bad boy’ striker Leroy Griffiths, who was booted out by Nationwide South champions Grays Athletic on the eve of the FA Trophy Final due to an incident in Spain.

Griffiths was Grays’ top scorer as they marched to the title and, despite the off-field problems, offers for the former QPR and Farnborough Town man will be plentiful.
