Long servant Acland quits Erith & Belvedere
Erith & Belvedere, currently bottom of the Dr Martens League Eastern Division, have announced Mike Acland has resigned from the club after seven and a half years as manager, writes Stephen McCartney.

Acland's coach, Dave Hough has also resigned following "a string of poor results".

A statement issued by the Park View Road club read: "We know that a lot of people have been calling for the manager's head, but we wanted to give him as much time and much of a chance as possible to turn things around.

"Unfortunately this did not happen, and the club will be looking for a long term replacement to take over team affairs as soon as possible."

The Dere's hope to have a new manager in place ahead of next Wednesday's trip to Salisbury City, although Richard Vercesi takes charge of training this week.
