Darren Smith no longer plays Darts
Dr Martens League Eastern Division club Dartford have released defender Darren Smith, reports www.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk

Manager Tommy Sampson announced his decision formally at a recent "Meet the Manager" evening at the club.

Sampson stated that he felt the former Sittinbourne and Gravesend player didn't give enough commitment to the Darts compared to his wages, and also the fact that the club has players within the squad who can do the same job.

Ex-Chatham Town player Lee Mitchell has, however, been signed by Sampson after an impressive pre-season and he could well find himself in the starting line-up for the first game of the season against Bashley.
