Friends re-united at Ashford

Southall will be visiting Ashford Town's Homelands Stadium for a pre-season friendly on Tuesday August 12th. Southall are currently being managed by Tim Thorogood's friend from his Portsmouth day's, Terry Fenwick. Admission prices will be Adults £3.  and under 16's free.

Pre season is well under way for Ashford Town’s under 18 squad and manager Martin Larkin is confident of a successful season. Having guided his squad through the second half of last season Larkin has had the summer to attract new players whilst having significantly more time available to him to shape the team into an outfit that the club will be proud of.

Larkin’s main priority will be the league campaign which again will be strong with most local non-league outfits entering a side. The league cup and County cup will follow, but the competition that has got the players excited is the FA Youth Cup, which Town have entered after a few years out of the loop. With a history rich in performances of now current premiership players the competition will go lengths to build the reputation of Ashford Town, if obviously the U18’s progress which Larkin is confident of.

Having inherited the bulk of the under 16 squad from last term and having attracted players from the likes of Dover Athletic and Tonbridge Angels Larkin should be more capable of fielding a strong side when the inevitable call from the reserve team comes for his most promising talent.

If anyone is aged under 18 on the first of September this year and feels they could add to the squad then feel free to contact Martin Larkin through the club.
