Bad break for Ashford striker
Ashford Town striker Paul Jones received some bad news following
Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bromley in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round, writes
Stephen McCartney.
The twenty-two year old played a key role in Saturday's game against Ryman
League Division One South side Bromley before leaving the pitch due to injury.
Ashford had to play the closing minutes of the game with only ten men as manager
Tim Thorogood had already used all three substitutes.
It has been confirmed that the former Gillingham, Hastings United and Welling
United player has broken a bone in his lower leg.  He will need a plaster
encasement for several weeks followed by a period of treatment to regain
strength and fitness.
Ashford's unbeaten record came to an end last Tuesday as Joe Wade's 81st minute
free kick gave Bromley a
1-0 victory in the replay at Hayes Lane.
