Margate come closer home for cup clash

Margate's John Ullman Kent Senior Cup quarter-final clash against Welling United will be played at Ramsgate's Southwood ground next Tuesday, 2nd March (kick off 7.45pm), writes Stephen McCartney.

A Margate spokesman said: "The venue has been chosen to enable as many of our fans to attend what will be a "local game" as a thank you for their continued support due to the extended traveling they have endured during our current ground share arrangement.

"Our thanks also go out to Ramsgate Football Club for agreeing to help stage this match, which should be a highly entertaining encounter, with Welling United likely to feature former Margate favourite Phil Collins in their squad."
