Oates commits himself to Margate

Ryman Premier League side Margate have announced defender Greg Oates has signed a further one-year contract, writes Stephen McCartney.

Oates joined Margate in August 2002, having been a former professional with Arsenal.

He is a roaming right wing back, and has plenty of pace and energy.

And manager Chris Kinnear is delighted to have tied him down to the Thanet club.

"It's good he's stayed bearing in mind that he was in the England semi-professional squad.

"I'm very happy to be able to keep a player of his quality in our squad," he told the club's website.

Greg Oates remains at Margate
