We aren't making up the numbers, insists Daish

Gravesend & Northfleet boss Liam Daish, whose side makes the long midweek trip to Hereford United, was pleased with their 4-0 win over Halifax Town at Stonebridge Road yesterday.

He told the Non League Paper: "We've got to start believing in ourselves.

"We are not in this league to make up the numbers - we are going to have a real go at this.

"Halifax will be one of the sides likely to be involved in the play-off's at the end of the season and we want to be up there with them.

"In the second half, we came out on the front foot and our third goal was superb.

"The build-up was good and Danny Slatter arrived late and fast to put the ball into the net.  That's good football - a great goal.

"After the sending off, (Onome Sodje 13 minutes into his home debut having came on as a 53rd minute substitute) we got numbers behind the ball and kept solid.

"Don't ask me if we coach what Andy Drury did to get in the box.  You can't coach things like that.  He loves playing up front and showing his stuff.  He deserved to score."
